Foreclosure ProcessThe foreclosure process can often take less than three months from the time the sale of foreclosure is scheduled by the bank or lender. Before the foreclosure procedure starts, the Land Court has to rule that the borrower is not protected by the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Civil Relief Act. Once the foreclosure is approved by the Land Court, the orders of notice will be published in the local newspaper. The notice will need to be published several times before the sale. An auctioneer conducts the sale at the residential or commercial property in question. Within thirty days, the foreclosure deed is recorded, and property is transferred to the highest bidder. Our firm also represents homeowners and business owners whose properties are being foreclosed on. If you need to file bankruptcy, however, it is possible to keep your home and keep your business.
